CattCut Privacy Policy
This policy explains how CATTORY SAS handles the personal data of people who buy and use CattCut, in compliance with Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1074 of 2015, which compiles Decree 1377 of 2013.
1. Data controller
CATTORY SAS · tax ID (NIT) 901.967.828 · Medellín, Colombia
Email: hey@cattory.co
2. First: your videos never leave your computer
CattCut runs on your machine, with your own Claude account. Cattory does not receive your recordings, videos, transcripts or the data of the people who appear in them. Whatever Claude processes during editing is handled by Anthropic under its own terms and privacy policy, not by Cattory.
3. What data we handle, why, and where it comes from
| Data | Why | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email and country | Identify your account, send your key, payment notices, support and service changes | Creem, when you buy |
| Plan, subscription status and dates | Know whether your license is active, in its grace period or ended | Automatic notices from Creem |
| License key and license identifier | Deliver the Software and its updates, and mark your copy (Terms, section 8) | Generated when you buy |
| Activated computers (a generic name) and how many | Apply the two-computer limit | Your installation |
| Download count per key | Detect shared keys | Our access server |
| Technical error diagnostics (version, operating system, graphics card, error message), only if you turn them on | Fix failures | Your installation, with your consent |
| What you write to support | Answer you | You |
We do not handle: your card or payment details (Creem handles them; Cattory never sees them), sensitive data, or data of minors. Error reports never include video, transcripts, or the paths or names of your files.
4. Who else handles your data, and international transfer
To provide the service we use these providers, who handle data on our behalf or as controllers of their own service:
| Provider | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ) | Payments, invoicing, taxes and license keys, as merchant of record | Estonia |
| Cloudflare | Access server, license and download database | United States and its global network |
| Sentry | Error reports, only if you turn them on | United States |
| WhatsApp (Meta) | Support messages, if you write to us there | Under WhatsApp's terms |
These providers are outside Colombia. By accepting this policy you authorize the international transfer and transmission of your data to them for the purposes in section 3. Cattory does not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.
5. Authorization
By buying CattCut and accepting this policy you give Cattory prior, express and informed authorization to handle your data for the purposes in section 3. Automatic error diagnostics have a separate authorization, asked for at installation, that you can withdraw at any time.
6. Your rights as data subject
Under Law 1581 of 2012 you can, at any time and free of charge:
- know, update and correct your data;
- ask for proof of the authorization you gave us;
- know how we have used your data;
- revoke the authorization or ask us to delete your data, when there is no legal or contractual duty to keep it;
- access the personal data we handle about you for free;
- file complaints with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), after first coming to us.
Revoking the authorization for the data we need for the license (name, email, key, subscription status) means ending your plan, because without it we cannot provide the service.
7. How to exercise them
Write to hey@cattory.co from the email you bought with, saying what you are asking for.
- Inquiries (what data we have and how we use it): we answer within ten (10) business days at most. If we cannot, we tell you why and answer within five (5) more business days at most.
- Claims (correct, update, delete or revoke): we answer within fifteen (15) business days at most from receiving the complete claim. If we cannot, we tell you why and answer within eight (8) more business days at most. If the claim is missing information, we ask for it within five (5) days; if we do not receive it within two (2) months, we consider it withdrawn.
8. How long we keep data
- Account and license data: while your plan is active and up to two (2) years after it ends, to be able to reactivate it and handle claims.
- Payment records: as long as accounting and tax law requires.
- Download counts and error reports: ninety (90) days.
- Support conversations: two (2) years.
After that we delete them or make them anonymous.
9. Security
The access keys to our systems are not inside the Software you install, and access to the license database is limited to Cattory. No system is infallible: if an incident affects your data, we tell you and report it to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce as the law requires.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change something important, we tell you by email before it applies. The current version is always published on this page. The Spanish version of this policy prevails if the two versions differ.
